The project

The story of Restaurant La Llotja, at Port de Roses

An old fishermen's building turned into a project built on seafood cooking and wine.

The beginning

From a public tender to a fishermen's building at Port de Roses

Arnau Curiel is the son of Pep Curiel, owner of Restaurant Tramonti in Roses, and was already working in the kitchen when the chance came up to take on a very old fishermen's building at Port de Roses. He and his father entered the tender for it against well-known names in the restaurant trade, and won it after almost a year of waiting. Arnau trained at the Escola d'Hostaleria de Girona under Josep Roca.

The cellar

A bridge between the sea and the vineyard

The cellar holds more than 450 wines: bottles from the DO Empordà, from other parts of Catalonia and the rest of Spain, plus an international selection where Burgundy leads the way. It is what sets the project apart, built as a bridge between the sea and the vineyard.
